Happy Halloween & Reformation Day

Whatever your view of Halloween may be, today is a day to remember where we as a church have come from and to remember to have FUN!

Throughout this country today, many churches will have Harvest Parties, Fall Festivals or Trunk 'r Treats or whatever creative ideas they can come up with. At First Baptist Millsap, they will be having a Trunk 'r Treat and Fall Festival, Connor and Brennan will be penguins.

Have a wonderful day!

Update

I have now started a new job. A week ago Wednesday the 24th, I started orientation and training at the Wal Mart Distribution Center in Cleburne TX. I worked six days straight with orientation and then immediately beginning my shift. I have not picked up right where I left off, but I have yet to work under the production standards that will be required in about six more weeks.

We are thankful for how the Lord is providing for us, and we are praying for the Lord's direction from here. Please pray that we would have wisdom and discernment concerning the church the Lord would have us lead.

Thank you for your prayers.

Texas Update #4

Well, the job hunt may be over very soon. I will be going tomorrow afternoon for a "Job Offer" at one of the local Wal-Mart Distribution Centers. I will be doing the same job as the last time I worked at a W-M DC, but this will not be perishable and will be orderfilling for Supercenters only. We are thankful to finally be at this point with them. The starting pay for the North Carolina DC I worked at is still better than anything else that I have seen around here for starting pay, but my starting pay at this DC will be just over a dollar less than where I ended in NC. This is truly a blessing for us to have this kind of income while staying with my parents.

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. We are waiting for this to be in place and then will be able to focus more on where to go from here for ministry. This will be a matter of serious prayer for us. We have had many different ideas pass through our minds, but we are not certain on any particular direction. We are looking mostly at returning to full-time ministry with an established church.

Enjoy the pictures and may you have a great day of worship tomorrow.

Two More Pictures

Last night looked as if we were in for a big storm. Both of these pictures were clouds from "the storm" moving in. The clouds here in Texas are amazing. They are tall and full. They look as if you could climb on them and reach the summit.

The Job Hunt

We are currently still waiting on a job. I should be preaching next Sunday at my parents' church again, but other than that we are still waiting. This really has been a time of waiting and trusting. We know the Lord will provide for us in his time, and we are truly seeing the Lord stretch the money we have been given.

I finally had an interview with Wal-Mart this past week, and we are hoping that the Lord will provide this job for us very soon. There are many drawbacks to working there, but there are many positives. Higher pay than anywhere else that I have searched. A shorter work week than anywhere else that I have searched. Opportunities for overtime unlike anywhere else that I have searched.

Finally, I have opened a flickr account and this is where you can find it, here. I will hopefully make it to the library later this and begin uploading more pictures. I am trying to organize the ones I want to add. This will provide access for others to our pictures, that you are free to copy or download, and you don't have to search the blog for them. Also, I can add them while on high-speed internet at full size rather than resizing. I have one picture on there right now. I will let you know when I add more to the site.

Texas Update #3

Well, not too much has changed. I am still looking for a job. I have had three interviews, and I turned one down and the other turned me down. I have never heard back from the other. The person I was supposed to interview with never called me back.

I have never had to try so hard just to get a job, but all of this has been a clear message from God for me to see how greatly he provides for the needs of his people. Through all of this, I believe God has been telling me to, "Wait, watch and see." I must wait on Him. I resigned according to His leading and he will provide a job in his leading. I must watch him work. Yes, I fill out the applications, but I wait on him to do his work to bring about the job. And then I will see His greatness through His work.

Please continue to pray as we wait for Him to provide. Also, please continue to pray concerning God's direction for future ministry. The range of thoughts run from one extreme to another, but we know that in time, God will direct us to His work for us.

Thank you for your prayers.
